When hiring, there are no two ways about it: you just have to do a background check, you just have to. The last thing you want, as a boss, as small business manager, or as a human resource head, is to hire someone with a tainted record and a vague past. You will be letting this new hire into your office, to mingle with people the company values, and he or she will have access to expensive office equipment and sensitive records. And this is to say nothing of how his or her possible faked expertise can set projects two steps back and make you lose face with clients. You need to do a background check before it’s too late
