According to the CBI / Edexcel Education & Skill Survey 2008, there is a distinct concern amongst employers that they cannot attract people with the “right” skills. In fact, 53% of employers state they lack confidence in finding the necessary skills in new employees. More of a fundamental concern however, is the lack of basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills that employers are reporting in new and potential staff.
